Getting Ready for Christmas

Well, Tadd and I have decided that since we are waiting until the 2nd week of December to see if the Lord provides all we need to go to Haiti. We figured it would be too difficult to try to get to get to Haiti by Christmas. Our hearts are sad that we will not be a whole family for Christmas as Annecy and Isaiah will not be with us. But we know the Lord is with both of us and we want to be together on the Christmas that He puts us together on and not to force something that is not of Him. Please pray that God will give us the words to tell Annecy and Isaiah we will not be able to be with them on Christmas and that he will comfort all of our hearts as we wait for another year to spend our first Christmas together as a complete family.

We put up our Christmas tree and Kenya and Elijah made their count down chain for Christmas,

Kenya lost her front tooth and we are anxiously awaiting a visit from Grandpa Davis.

We wish all of you a wonderful Holiday Season full of Jesus' love and compasion. I hope that you don't get too busy to remember the reason we celebrate.

Finally Hitched

Well, the wedding is finally complete and Jed and Marcela are in Honeymooners Paradise. The whole thing went great and Marcela's family that came up from Mexico were the most awesome people. We are now getting into Thanksgiving mode. We are having Tadd's family to our house for some fix'in and then going to Jed's for a Wedding present opening party. Should be lots of fun and food all around or is that all a round. For those of you who we thought we got an update letter to and apparently are now finding out we did not get our follow throughs, very followed through, So here it is, you just need to click on it to enlarge it and read it. We are still waiting on the Lord to see if He provides all of the nessesary things required to continue with our move to Haiti and we are excited to see what He will do, whether it is what we thought He was aiming for or something totally and all together different. Either way we are excited because we want to be where ever he puts us. Our hearts will break if that is not in Haiti with Annecy and Isaiah. But we hang on to the verse in Jeremiah 29:11 that says; I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." So we know where ever he wants us, it is to prosper us and our kids, so we will trust in His plans and trust He will give us and Annecy and Isaiah peace for whatever He brings.

Kenya and Elijah just got done with a pinewood derby at church and designed their own cars.

Well, we are all busy getting ready for Tadd's brothers wedding on the 22nd and trying to find a renter for out house while we are in Haiti. The person who was going to rent it is no longer able to and so we are seeing what the Lord will do. We had lots of fun at the Harvest Parties we went to with the kids and thought we would attach a couple of pictures of the Zebra and the storm trooper that went with us. The storm trooper thought that the mask was not good enough so he had dad paint 3 life sabers on his face instead.

Well we got our family pictutes back and Brittney did a great job. Most of you will be seeing a little bit of them when we send out our first Scheffer update letter in the next week or so. We are really getting down to the wire here. We are starting to clean things out and also get ready for Tadd's brothers wedding on Nov. 22. His fiance just got here from Mexico and it has been fun to meet her and get to know her, while trying to help her put together a wedding in one month! Tadd has been slowing down a little with his work, as construction slows down the colder it gets. Since Tom does a lot of painting, their work is very conditional on the weather. It has been nice to have him home a litte more. We are getting so excited to spend Christmas with our whole family. Happy Birthday

Well, Charity's birthday was on Oct. 14th, so her wonderful, romantic, loving husband took her away without the kids to Oregon. We stayed in cabins at the Medford Oaks RV park and drove to Applegate Fellowship (one of our favorite places to listen to John Courson, the pastor) We went in the morning at 6:30am for a worship service they have, before people go to work or school. Then every evening they have some kind of service and so we were blessed to start and end every day with the word and worship. We spent the middle of our 2 days there walking the shops and hanging out in the sun and reading.

Then one of the nights we were there the assistant pastor at Applegate introduced himself to us and asked us where we were from and why we were there, when we explained a little bit of our story to him, he asked if we could have coffee with him the next morning after worship. Well, we did and after hearing a little about his life story and sharing a little of ours, he offered us lodging in their "hospitality house anytime we wanted to come down and stay. It is a house for single mom's in transition or people who need a place to stay for a couple of days. They used to use it to house the young men going through their School of ministry, but now it is used for different random hospitality purposes. They have a wonderful woman named Shari, who lives there and keeps things up and makes meals for who ever stays there. He told us to go over and use the house to take naps and that Shari would bless us with dinner, before we went to their Wed night service and drove home overnight. Well the assistant pastor called and asked if he and another family could join us for dinner? Of course we agreed.

At 5:30 he showed up with Tyler and Hailey and their two kids. They had apparently, the day before, decided Haiti was jumping out to them as a possible place to do ministry and wanted some information on how they might go about setting up a program to send mission teams on a regular basis to Haiti. Needless to say we were excited to show them all of our pictures and answer any questions we could. At the end of dinner we exchanged contact information and left to the wednesday night service.

When we finished and went to our car to drive home, we were so in awe of what an amazing God we have and how he is always working things for our good. He always has us in the palm of His hand, no matter where we are and no matter what we are doing. It was definantly the best birthday yet. Feel'in like fall

Well it is starting to feel like fall up here. The ground is cluttered with the most beautiful colors and we are pulling out the 2nd blankets for the beds. I have to say, in the morning, I wake up and don't want to get out of bed because it's just too cold to venture out from under the blankets, that is when the Haiti heat doesn't sound so bad after all. Just don't ask me when we get there how it feels, by then I will be longing for the cool fall weather of Washington. I am proof that we have a very patient God, since it seems I am never content.

Well we got family pictures taken a couple of days ago, by our wonderful friend Brittney and I am excited to post a few. It will take a couple of days, as she is so sweet to do a little photo shopping fix up, that is nessesary when you have kids in the picture. We are still revamping our newsletter and hoping to send them out and post one on this blog for all to read by next week.

We were again blessed Sunday night at Calvary Everett as God brought even more people and the resounding praise was that God had answered their prayers by bring them to Calvary Everett that night. We are so excited to see what God will do in the next couple of months as Calvary Everett finds a building and moves to Sunday Morning. It has been such a blessing to work with another person who loves the Lord.

We spoke with Annecy and Isaiah on Sunday and they asked if we could bring their Grandma's and Grandpa's with us to Haiti. When I told them I didn't think that would be possible and that they would have to keep praying for their passports, so they could come over to see their Grandma's and Grandpa's. They said "OK, then let me just talk to all of them for now". Unfortunatly I was not able to grant this request either, so we resolved to just pray lots and leave it in God's hands. We got some new pictures of them this week, but Snapfish will not let me download them for some reason, so I will try again later and post them if I can. Grow'in

Well, we remembered the camera on Sunday, so we could take pictures of Cavary Everett. When we went to take pictures, we realized the batteries were dead. I guess we will try again this Sunday. God is really blessing Calvary Everett. The building we are in is pretty full and we are looking to move to Sunday Morning Services, by the first of the year! We are very blessed to be a part of what God is doing, the people He is bringing are blessing our socks off. Please continue to pray for the work there and the people involved.

Well we are getting ready to send out our first official "Haiti Newsletter". We are trying to get it ready this week and send it out to let you know what is going on with us and Haiti. We are trying to get a family picture taken, so you can put our mugs on your fridge, to remember to pray for us. We are so blessed to have friends and family who will do this for us.

Sorry I have been neglecting the pictures lately, I have not been very good at remembering to document the Genre of the Scheffer life. We did get a little video clip of Isaiah and Annecy saying Hi last week. It repeats itself over and over again, so Elijah watched his brother saying Hi for ten straight minutes the other day. If you want to try it, be my guest. I don't think these clips will be as exciting to you, as they were to us, but we do have some people out there who love to hear their little creole accents and since we love to show off their beautiful faces, here they are.
