Well, we are back into the swing of things. We started school again today (much to kenya and elijah's dismay)


And even worse, it started off with a bad hair day for Kenya. She got over it by about 3:00 when she went with Elijah to his first Karate Lesson and her Gymnastics Lessons.


We had been holding off on getting them involved in any extra curricular things, as we weren't sure when we were going to Haiti. We have someone coming to look at the house hopefully tomorrow and see if it is something that will work for their family to rent while they are looking for a house to buy. We figure we will get the kids in something and if we have to pull them out, it will not be to tramatic. Thank you for your continued prayer as we continue to seek the Lord and go where we feel He is leading us. We will keep you updated and as always you are all in our prayers.

Merry Christmas!

Well, we had a very blessed Christmas! We had our birthday Party for Jesus! (The only time the kids get to eat cake for breakfast is on Christmas morning)

Kenya and Elijah got some great presents that they played with for about 20 minutes before asking if they could play more video games on the game boy that their cousin had left at our house the day before. But we did get a picture of "Violet"(the incredibles girl) and "Dash" (the incredibles boy) before they went to bed the other night. (Thank you Aunt Alecia for the PJ's)

It was so nice to have lots of snow in the days surrounding Christmas,
it made everyone slow down and hang out at home a little more. We have spent a lot of the last two weeks doing this...
as the roads were pretty bad to drive on and you can only suit up for 20 minutes to play in the snow for 2 minutes, so many times.

We did have a cousin slumber party on the day after Christmas, Kenya had Mia age 9 and Lakota age 7 over and we had pedicures, made a sewing project, "bejeweled" their shirts, played games. All on a list of things they made to do.
The next day for Elijah's sake we had Cade over too (his male cousin) and we managed to sneak in some "dog pile Uncle Tadd" time.


We got a great Christmas present, Isaiah's house mom sent us some pictures of him opening his presents and stocking.

She is so awesome and we are so blessed that God has brought her and her husband Clay to us as an answer to our prayers of having someone to be great parental figures while we can not. They have been taking wonderful care of our son until we can. And also Hal and Chris who are taking care of out daughter in the Girls home until we can be with her also. We are still praying about going to Haiti soon, we still do not have anyone to rent our house as of now and we are still trying to raise all the support needed. We trust that if Haiti is in God's plan He will provide answers to both. We are hoping to make our final decision in the next two weeks and see if this is what He has for us now or if He has other plans. Thank you for all of your prayers and support, We hope you all had a blessed and safe Christmas. We pray Christ will remain in all of our thoughts year round, as much as He is during the Chrismas season.

Interesting Winter Wonderland

Grandpa Davis and Uncle Roger got here monday night and we had four days of too much fun. We made gingerbread houses one night. Then cookies to hang on the tree the next. Followed by Grandpa and Uncle Roger treating us to a night at The Mt. Baker Theatre for a showing of "The Nutcracker Ballet."

Finally on the last night we traveled an hour south to Stanwood to visit "The lights of Christmas" at the Warm Beach Conference Center. They had over a million Christmas lights up around the grounds. Then crafts, petting zoo, pony rides, horse drawn wagon rides and a great conversation with "Bruce the talking Spruce." It was so much fun.

The only problem was, by the time we got to the face painting they were closing for the night. So mom promised to paint their faces in the morning and this is what we came up with.

It was so much fun and we are enjoying hanging out and being healthy. Hopefully it sticks and we will not come down with any more of the winter bugs.

We have had some seriously cold windy weather. Since we had a lot of trees cut down around our house in order for them to make room to widen the road in front of us, we have a lot of week unprotected trees that have been rearranging themselves in the wind. Here are a couple of pictures.

The Lord has been very good to us and protected us from any falling on our house.

We are so blessed with everything we have and are especially thankful at this time of year for wonderful family and friends like you to share it with.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Well, Tadd and I have decided that since we are waiting until the 2nd week of December to see if the Lord provides all we need to go to Haiti. We figured it would be too difficult to try to get to get to Haiti by Christmas. Our hearts are sad that we will not be a whole family for Christmas as Annecy and Isaiah will not be with us. But we know the Lord is with both of us and we want to be together on the Christmas that He puts us together on and not to force something that is not of Him. Please pray that God will give us the words to tell Annecy and Isaiah we will not be able to be with them on Christmas and that he will comfort all of our hearts as we wait for another year to spend our first Christmas together as a complete family.

We put up our Christmas tree and Kenya and Elijah made their count down chain for Christmas,

Kenya lost her front tooth and we are anxiously awaiting a visit from Grandpa Davis.

We wish all of you a wonderful Holiday Season full of Jesus' love and compasion. I hope that you don't get too busy to remember the reason we celebrate.

Finally Hitched

Well, the wedding is finally complete and Jed and Marcela are in Honeymooners Paradise. The whole thing went great and Marcela's family that came up from Mexico were the most awesome people. We are now getting into Thanksgiving mode. We are having Tadd's family to our house for some fix'in and then going to Jed's for a Wedding present opening party. Should be lots of fun and food all around or is that all a round. For those of you who we thought we got an update letter to and apparently are now finding out we did not get our follow throughs, very followed through, So here it is, you just need to click on it to enlarge it and read it. I think you can print it to once you have enlarged it.

We are still waiting on the Lord to see if He provides all of the nessesary things required to continue with our move to Haiti and we are excited to see what He will do, whether it is what we thought He was aiming for or something totally and all together different. Either way we are excited because we want to be where ever he puts us. Our hearts will break if that is not in Haiti with Annecy and Isaiah. But we hang on to the verse in Jeremiah 29:11 that says; I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." So we know where ever he wants us, it is to prosper us and our kids, so we will trust in His plans and trust He will give us and Annecy and Isaiah peace for whatever He brings.

Kenya and Elijah just got done with a pinewood derby at church and designed their own cars.

Well, we are all busy getting ready for Tadd's brothers wedding on the 22nd and trying to find a renter for out house while we are in Haiti. The person who was going to rent it is no longer able to and so we are seeing what the Lord will do. We had lots of fun at the Harvest Parties we went to with the kids and thought we would attach a couple of pictures of the Zebra and the storm trooper that went with us. The storm trooper thought that the mask was not good enough so he had dad paint 3 life sabers on his face instead.

New family pics

Well we got our family pictutes back and Brittney did a great job. Most of you will be seeing a little bit of them when we send out our first Scheffer update letter in the next week or so. We are really getting down to the wire here. We are starting to clean things out and also get ready for Tadd's brothers wedding on Nov. 22. His fiance just got here from Mexico and it has been fun to meet her and get to know her, while trying to help her put together a wedding in one month! Tadd has been slowing down a little with his work, as construction slows down the colder it gets. Since Tom does a lot of painting, their work is very conditional on the weather. It has been nice to have him home a litte more. We are getting so excited to spend Christmas with our whole family. Well here are the pictures, hopefully the next post will have a copy of our update letter.
